Patient information

Patient information

Helpful information about how our practice works, from test results and prescriptions to privacy and feedback.

Test results

Please book a follow-up appointment to discuss your test results with your doctor. Results are not given out over the phone by reception staff, because your doctor needs to explain what they mean for your care.

If a result needs urgent attention, the practice will contact you using the phone number recorded in your file. Please keep your contact details up to date.

Repeat prescriptions and referrals

An appointment is usually required for repeat prescriptions and referrals. This allows your doctor to review how your treatment is working and check for any side effects or interactions.

Please plan ahead and book before your medicine runs out. Referrals cannot be backdated.

Reminders and recalls

Our practice participates in reminder systems for preventive health care, such as immunisations, cervical screening and chronic disease reviews.

You may receive a reminder by SMS, letter or phone call. If you would prefer not to take part, please let our reception team know and we will note this in your record.

Privacy of your health information

Your medical record is a confidential document. Our practice keeps health information secure and only discloses it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and our privacy policy.

You may request access to your health information. Requests should be made in writing to your clinic and may take some time to process.

Feedback and complaints

We welcome your feedback. If something has not gone as you expected, please speak with our reception team or ask to discuss the matter with your doctor. You can also write to the practice at your clinic address.

If you feel your concern has not been resolved, you may contact the Health Care Complaints Commission (NSW) or the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Your rights and respectful behaviour

You have the right to considerate, respectful care, to be informed about your options, and to be involved in decisions about your health. Interpreter assistance can be arranged where needed.

In return, we ask that patients treat our staff and other patients with courtesy. Aggressive or abusive behaviour is not accepted at our clinics.
